Hello everyone, I hope you are well and enjoying this heat I certainly am not! With the restrictions of lockdown easing, I have found myself doing some social distance walks across the local countryside with only with one person at a time.
June has been a progressive month for me, I have been working on various range of things mixed from; music for my YouTube channel, things for bar chats and working on some personal things as well[SH2] . Over the past couple of weeks, I have returned full time to working at my office, this is obviously taken some time away from my schedule as I am now commuting again.
So, what have I actually done? Well, for bar chats mark and I have had a couple of meetings in which we discussed ideas and future projects. We've been looking into pod casting and we have looked into funding pages like Patreon and Ko-fi. I have also made a link tree account to link all our social medias and other pages together.
For myself musically I have finished the lyrics for helping hand, And I got to enjoy another open mic this month I focused on swing music. I have continued to upload sounds onto SoundCloud and one of them managed to hit over 100 plays and I was really happy to see it to do well. Tech-wise, I have bought myself a new microphone in which has allowed me to start recording audio at home again. This to me is fantastic news because it means my return to uploading on my YouTube channel again is going to be sooner than I thought.
I haven't done much in the way of drawing over the past month, I have sketched here and there nothing worth sharing I am looking forward to getting back to it over the next month.
Working on my social media image has actually started to take effect this month. I've stopped taking I completely a-political front and started to share my opinion on things, it is a little out of my comfort zone, but it was something that I needed to do. More importantly, I have started streaming on twitch, I have only done two streams at the moment have with the latter being a lot more fun than the first.
Speaking of my twitch stream, on the stream I did on June 25th I had two viewers in which completely made my day, so this is a shout out to Glenn and Natalie, thank you :)
Working on my own channel and on Bar Chats’ things also got me thinking about my own funding. I of course already have my Patreon channel. However, I now have a Ko-Fi page. I understand where a regular monthly payment may not suit people a tip service would be easier to manage. So, this is what I have planned:
Patreon will be for long term funding and goals, I will use it to pay for music education and items that will take a lot of saving up for (i.e. Merch if it happens, CD’s and other recordings etc)
Whereas Ko-fi will be mainly for funding smaller items I need for the channel, equipment and the like.
I have also set myself a link tree account to keep everything together and I will share it at the bottom of the blog.
What is the plan for July?
So, for July I have a couple of things in mind that I want to accomplish
Get more content uploaded onto Bar Chats
Get more content uploaded onto my Soundcloud and maybe even my YouTube
Continue working on social media presence
Work on my schedule so I can have time to work on each segment fairly.
That’s all I have for now and I will be back next month with another update. For regular updates please follow my Twitter and Facebook pages found in the link below
